of Vodafone roaming, tmobile roaming, o2 roaming, virgin roaming and orange roaming
would know. The ability to use your international global sim card abroad is a big
bonus as a
regular traveller, business roamer and Gap Year Student,
and would enable you to keep in contact with the people whom you love.
What is International Roaming?
International roaming refers to the ability to use your mobile service while overseas
away from your local network. There are many types of roaming available and the
destination to which you are travelling, you may be able to use your existing mobile
number and mobile phone to make and receive calls, send and receive SMS, and even
receive facsimiles and internet browsing.
How does Roaming Work?
When roaming internationally, you are using the network of a mobile
phone carrier in your destination country with which your Local mobile carrier has
a ‘roaming agreement’ or Service Level Agreement. A roaming agreement is a commercial
agreement between your local mobile service provider and a roaming partner mobile
carrier that allows you to access the network of the roaming partner mobile service
provider. However the down side of this is that you may be charge a higher tariff
for each connection.
